This Sunday concludes the gospels from the Bread of Life teaching. What a rich set of teachings it is! One teaching, really: Jesus is the Bread of Life, He alone. If we want his life, we must eat his body and drink his blood—at the Eucharist, and do all that’s necessary before, and after, to mean it and revere it. PARISH PICTORIAL DIRECTORY This will be really really helpful—as long as everyone’s in it. Some could excuse yourself by saying it’s mainly for “families", or for couples. No. Our parish is made up of more than that. Each of you is one of our families, and we need you in this book. At the office we grab it through the week, and parishioners look it up to see, ”Who’s that nice lady who sits next to us at church?” or “Who’s the guy who’s always doing things around the parish?”

Take it to the Next Level - That’s what I see Jesus saying to us in the Bread of Life gospels we have on Sundays now. Having eaten the bread that had been miraculously multiplied, the “crowds” wanted more bread. Jesus told them not to be always after the bread that will perish, but the bread that will last forever.
