Our school has several organizations to facilitate the cooperation of staff and parents for the sake of our students. See the organizations listed below to see how you can get involved.
The membership of the Home and School Committee (H&S) shall consist of the parents and guardians of the students of St. Rose Philippine Duchesne School and the faculty and staff of the school.
The objectives of the Home and School shall be:
Home and School meeting are held on a monthly basis in the school cafeteria. (approx. the second Wednesday of the month.) At several meetings throughout the year there will be a topic of discussion for the evening and/or a quest speaker. There will always be an open forum for the additional of topics anyone would like to discuss. All are welcome.
Before and after care is available at St. Rose Philippine Duchesne School. Payment is required for all reserved time slots, even if the child does not attend. Payment is due the first day the child attends for the week.
Enrollment is required. Before school care hours are 6:30-7:40 a.m., when school opens. The cost is $2 per day per child for enrolled students. The cost for EMERGENCY before school care for NON-enrolled students is $3 per day per child. Snacks are not provided for morning care but children may bring food. Before school care is only available on school days.
All students attending after school care on a regular basis must be enrolled. The cost for enrolled students 3-5 p.m. is $6.25 per day per child. The cost for enrollsed student 3-6 p.m. is $8.25 per day per child.
EMERGENCY after school care is available for non-enrolled students at $8 per day per child 3-5 p.m. and $10 per day per child for 3-6 p.m. There is a late fee of $1.00 per minue after 6:00 p.m. due that day. Snacks are provided daily in after school care.
Every student must be signed out daily. No student will be released to any one other than a parent or person whose name is on file as "child release designee".
After school care is now available on early dismissal days. Aftercare will be open from 12-6:00 p.m. on these days. The cost is $5.00 above the normal cost. Students are asked to bring a lunch/drink.
Our school community is strengthened through the efforts of our volunteers. Through the volunteer efforts the Home and School Committee are able to offer wonderful programs such as the Book Fair, Family Movie Night, Student Trivia Night just to name a few. Additionally, our volunteers help to enhance our students' educational experience on a daily basis.
As described in the school handbook, all families are required to complete 15 service hours which can be completed through any of the volunteer opportunities detailed below.
Lunchtime Supervisors: Help students in the cafeteria during lunch including supervision of behavior. Lunch will be from 11:10am-12:30pm. Your help is always appreciated but please indicate if your availablility is not weekly.
Playground Supervisors: Help student during lunch recess including supervision of behavior. Recess will be from approximately 11:30am-12:50pm. Again, your help is always appreciated but please indicate if your availability is not weekly.
Stuff Friday Folders: Weekly office communication must be prepared to be sent home on Friday morning. Ms. Suzi will coordinate this schedule.
Library Helper: Help students during classroom library visits. Help check out books, shelve books, assist students as they browse, straighten facility as needed. It is preferred that volunteers be committed to helping once weekly or bi-weekly. Library is open from 9:00 am until approximately noon, Tuesday-Friday.
Market Day Helper: Assist one evening a month in sorting the Market Day orders for approximately two hours.
Room Parents: Assist teachers and Head Room Parent(s) with planning and attending classroom parties, events, receptions or activities, choosing and making the class Christmas ornament, preparing teacher appreciation treats. Head room parent will be responsible for coordinating the following with all room parents and the teacher: classroom parties, teacher appreciation treats, fish fry volunteers for one fish fry, and classroom basket for School Festival in the Spring. Parents can volunteer as Room Parents for each child's grade. Please indicate if you are interested in being a head room parent.
